We at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church are very glad that you are considering the possibility of visiting us and hope that your time with us will become invaluable to you. Here at Cherokee Creek, we try to make sure the first thing you see when you walk through the doors is a smiling face ready to assist you and your family in whatever needs you may have.
When people are checking out a church, they deserve straight answers to important questions. We have tried to anticipate what a number of your questions may be regarding our church. Please do not hesitate to email us if you have additional questions.

Do you have a nursery for my baby or preschooler?
Yes, we have a nursery and a wonderful group of people who are here to serve you and provide wonderful care for your baby so that you can enjoy the service without distraction
When should we arrive?
Our Sunday School begins at 10am. Our morning worship begins at 11am.
How big is your church?
On average we have between 150-200 people attending each Sunday.
How old is your church?
Cherokee Creek was originally founded in 1879, but has undergone several additions over the years. Most recently, we moved into our current location 2009.
Is your congregation older or younger?
Our church has a good mixture of older and younger members.
When are your worship services?
Sunday at 11am and 6pm Wednesday at 6:30pm
What is the preaching and music like?
Our Sunday morning worship is an upbeat yet traditional service. We have an adult choir and a praise team that leads us in worship (hymns and praise songs). The preaching is biblically based and relevant to your everyday life!
What are the church office hours?
The church office is open Monday thru Thursday from 9am to 2pm
What time is Sunday School?
Our Sunday School begins at 10am. We offer classes for all ages!
Do you offer GA’s and RA’s?
Yes. Our groups meet every Sunday night at 6pm in the Family Life Center across the street.
What should I wear to church?
You can wear just about anything you like. Most of our folks dress in a semi-casual style. (Coat and tie is not required!)
Will I feel welcome at Cherokee Creek?
It is our hope that anyone from any walk of life will feel welcome at Cherokee Creek.
Will I have to stand up in front of people?
Guests are never asked to stand up, so don’t worry about being embarrassed! While the people of Cherokee Creek are genuinely interested in getting to know you and making you feel welcome, we will try to do so in a way that is relaxed and comfortable!
Do you have a youth ministry?
We have a youth ministry (6th-12th grade) which meets every Sunday night at 5:00pm in the main church and Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the Family Life Center across the street.
What kind of church are you?
Cherokee Creek is most importantly, Bible-based and Christ-centered! We are affiliated with the Broad River Baptist Association which is part of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Do I have to be a member to participate?
At Cherokee Creek you do not have to be a member to participate in any area of worship or Bible study. We offer many events and opportunities to the community and encourage participation by all members and non-members. However, membership is important because it shows your commitment to this body of believers and it allows you to vote on all church business and serve on church committees.

Based on the feedback we receive, newcomers experience Cherokee Creek as a warm and welcoming church that is family-friendly and Christ-centered! Most people describe Cherokee Creek as a great place to grow spiritually and enjoy Christian fellowship!
